I
had this piece of Drusy quartz (the dark sparkly piece on
the right side) lying around for quite a while, thinking
about how I could use it in some interesting manner. A
wonderful piece by itself, I still felt it wanted something
additional. Integrating the intense greens of
tourmaline
crystals
and a cabochon
tourmaline
on the end, I attempted to introduce into the overall piece
a visual play of balance.
The
body of the pin is made of sterling silver with a 14 karat
gold bezel holding the Drusy quartz. The tourmaline crystals
are wedged securely into place and, at the left end of the
pin, the tourmaline cabochon is also set in a 14 karat
yellow gold bezel.
