As with most of what I make, the rings shown in these photographs were designed for a customer living a great distance from where I'm located. It was her wish to have a pair of wedding bands made of platinum and 18 karat gold with several very high quality diamonds in her ring.
She and her fiancee wanted a reasonably closely matching wedding band for the groom, but with no diamonds. After some telephone conversations and a face to face meeting (I happened to be passing through their part of the country and made arrangements to get together) we were able to finalize the design which resulted in the rings you'll see below. The greater portion of each is made of platinum. Beginning at one end is a wide serpentine line made of 18K yellow gold undulates and constricts as it makes its way down the one side of the ring and straightens as it continues around the ring. The gold line ultimately terminates as a somewhat larger circle. In the bride's ring a single round brilliant diamond is set within the gold circle and line of channel set diamonds terminates the opposite end where the wide portion of the18K yellow gold line begins. ***Please note that similar rings could be made using alternate colors of gold instead.
