Spinel is an interesting gemstone, often playing with light very wonderfully. It is also a durable gem and comes in a variety of colors.

I selected this pink spinel due largely to its color, but additionally for its shape and bright character. I enjoy attempting to do with stones things that are not normally seen.

In this case, I've oriented the spinel to lie perpendicular to the finger. The main body of the ring is 14 karat yellow gold. The spinel is bezel set in this portion. Additionally, two trillion cut Lannytes are bezel set not too distantly from the point of the spinel. A 14 karat white gold section surrounds the spinel and converges between the three pointed gemstones. A round diamond is bezel set in this portion, aligned exactly with the pont of the spinel. There are several other smaller diamonds that are channel set on the underside of the ring.
