| The use of very simple lines (actually a single line) of 18K gold tracing the circumference of the platinum ring makes a very dramatic visual statement. As each side rises up above the finger, a substantial space is created in which to channel set a diamond where it can be very dramatically showcased. While the overall effect shares much the same appearance of a tension set diamond, it doesn't have some of the disadvantages of tension setting. ***Please note that this ring could be made using other colors of gold.
