White Gold Engagement Ring With
Round Diamond by Keith Farley

A .80 carat round brilliant cut diamond can be seen in this contemporary 14K white gold engagement ring. The stone has been channel set in such a way that it shares much of the same appearance as a tension set stone, leaving a large quantity of space surrounding the exposed diamond. The ring, when worn by itself, has a very classic appearance. Wedding bands can certainly be made to suit the specific ring. In this case, the customers were interested in having a pair of wedding rings made that act as a visual counterpoint, providing a more playful overall appearance, such as what can be seen just below the pictures of this ring further down the page. ***Please note that rings bearing similarity to this one could be made of other colors of gold as well as platinum or palladium.

While I don't make tension set rings, the resulting appearance of this white gold engagement ring (and actually nearly all of my engagement rings) shares many similarities. At the same time, it doesn't have the assorted problems associated with tension setting.
