18K Yellow Gold Engagement Ring by Keith Farley

The engagement ring seen below is made of 18K yellow gold. In addition to the 1.02 carat round brilliant center diamond, the ring has three smaller diamonds that are flush set into the surface of the ring. The combined weight of the three small diamonds is .13l carat. The raised band surrounding the main body of the ring is textured so as to make the ring more visually active and to draw the eye around the ring itself. In a similar manner as tension setting, the presence of the stone is emphasized in the open space where it resides. The stones being set as they are, there are no prongs to catch on clothing or hair and the ring extends only slightly higher than the depth of the diamond. This makes the ring very practical to wear. ***Please note that a similar ring could be made of other colors of gold or platinum.

While I don't make tension set rings, the resulting appearance of this white gold engagement ring (and actually nearly all of my engagement rings) shares many similarities. At the same time, it doesn't have the assorted problems associated with tension setting.
