Iolite remains a relatively unknown stone in the jewelry world. It has a reasonably unusual appearance, most generally occurring in a fairly saturated blue color.....and often with a certain amount of green, which makes its overall appearance all the more interesting. As with all gems, I'd definitely opt to select an iolite that has a well saturated color as well as a bright appearance.
